We started Travelhopp because extraordinary travel shouldn't be reserved for someone else's passport.
"It started with a WhatsApp group, a dream of Zanzibar, and the realisation that we deserved to see the world too."
In 2021, a group of friends in Accra got tired of watching other people travel. They saw the content, the drip photos, the carefully curated reels — all from destinations that felt simultaneously far away and completely attainable. The question wasn't whether they could afford to go. The question was: who was going to help them get there, properly?
So we built Travelhopp. Not as a booking platform, not as an agency in the traditional sense — but as a community first. A place where you could find people to travel with, a team who understood the specific joy of an African traveler moving through the world, and experiences that went deeper than a generic tour itinerary.
We've since taken over 5,000 travelers across 38 countries. Every single trip has been designed to feel like an insider experience — because our team members, our guides, and many of our travelers are insiders. We know these places. We love them. We want you to love them too.

We centre African travelers, African destinations, and African stories in everything we do. Our continent is not a backdrop — it's the main character.
Every hopp is designed to create lasting friendships, not just Instagram moments. The best thing you'll take home is the people you met along the way.
A meaningful portion of every trip flows back into the communities and guides who make it possible. We don't extract — we invest.

Personally vetted every local guide in our network. Speaks four languages, learning a fifth.
From day one, we committed that Travelhopp would not be a company that takes from the places it visits. We work exclusively with locally owned accommodation and food providers, employ guides directly, and channel a portion of every trip into community development projects in the regions we visit.
